Ten Things of Thankful
1. Measurable rain and cooler weather for the weekend!
2. With the rain and cooler weather came wind. Fortunately we didn't have any power outage or downed trees like some people in the valley did.
3. No need to go to PT twice a week anymore. For the rest of the month, I'll just be going once a week.
4. Getting to have 1:1 time with one of our grown granddaughters for several days.
5. Getting to visit with another grown granddaughter for a couple of days before she headed north to begin law school.
6. Being able to be of help to our daughter and her husband, so they could have a mini-vacation.
7. Eating out with my husband and being able to eat the wonderful Oriental Chicken Salad at Applebee's. I would love to be able to duplicate the dressing.
8. Going to the theater with my husband to see Testament of Youth. I loved this movie based on a book by Vera Brittain. The movie depicts her life during WWI. Great movie!
9. Being able to figure out a form I can make for keeping track of the blog hop prompts for the different blog hops I am participating in and following. I think using the form is going to make my blogging life easier.
10. My husband's hard work this week to try to "overhaul" our garden area. He is going to do something different in that area which will make it a lot easier for us to garden in the future.
Oh, good--you did get rain! There was some this morning in central CA, but none down here as far as I know.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for all your help!
Don't forget to link up your post! :-)
I wonder if you read my post right before I linked up, because I see my photo on your post. We didn't get a lot of rain, but maybe we will get more tonight and tomorrow.
DeleteI always order that Oriental Chicken Salad at Applebee's. It is good. Love the family days and I'm glad PT has been decreased, you must be doing well. I use Wordpress and there is a calendar which helps in keeping track of posts and hops and things. I love garden changes. We have different areas in our yard designated with different plants.
ReplyDeleteIvy shared a link (see below) of a copycat recipe for the salad. Can't wait to try it. I will probably used grilled chicken like I ordered in the restaurant though. Today my husband started building a waist-high wooden frame so we can plant some vegetables without having to bend over and maybe the gophers and ground squirrels will leave the plants alone.
DeleteI'm glad you've had some rain and cooler temps. We were down to the 60's last week and I loved it.
ReplyDeleteWe are suppose to have some more rain this week. Nights are dipping into the low 50's now, but I don't know if we can expect the trend to continue. I remember some years when we had very hot Octobers. I love the feel of fall!
Deletehttp://www.topsecretrecipes.com/Applebees-Oriental-Chicken-Salad-Copycat-Recipe.html It is a good salad... I have had it and this recipe is the closest Ive come to it.
ReplyDeleteIvy, thank you so much for the link to the recipe. I've bookmarked the site. I may want to search for some other recipes there.
DeleteCooler weather and rain? Yes please! My favorite kind of weather.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing things mentioned both here and on Kristi's blog - so cute.
Have a great week!
The weather is so interesting, and also so unpredictable. I hope you get some cooler weather and rain too. Yes, Kristi and I had some similar remarks this past TTOT. That's what happens when we get together.
DeleteAw, nice to see both a mother and a daughter participating in the same blog hop about being thankful.
ReplyDelete:-)
She is the one who encouraged me to start blogging again, and I'm thankful for her doing that.
Deletecan't identify with the 'cooler is good(er)' outlook… lol
ReplyDeletebut clearly it's a good thing to 1/2 the number of PT appts…
keeping track on bloghops and prompts and such! very useful thing to have!
My ideal outdoor temperature is in the 70's if I am being active, but if I want to be able to enjoy the beautiful seasons, I must endure the higher and lower temperatures as well.
