Six Sentence Story: Letter

Here is the link to the Six Sentence Story: Letter blog hop.

The letters revealed some of the details of his life, although that was not their main purpose.  He who had once scoffed at the very subject addressed hoped that his past would not keep his readers from giving serious consideration to his words.

Did he know then that some of his writings would be laboriously copied for others to read and ponder?  Did he realize then that some of the meaning of his words might be lost in the translations that would follow?

All he wanted to do was to bear witness of what he'd come to know was true, for he had seen the resurrected Christ in a vision and became a follower of Him.

Other letters are included in the New Testament, but it is Paul's letters which make up the majority of what we have come to know as the epistles.

    1. Thank you. I am really enjoying blogging. There is so much to learn, but I love the kind of stuff I am learning as I try to discover more about the things I am posting, not to mention trying to develop greater writing skills.

  2. I like this, Pat. The first thing you thought about were Paul's letters. And the letter from Paul I think about first, is the one to Corinthians - the greatest of these is LOVE.

    1. Thank you. There are so many great things to learn from the scriptures, and what a difference there would be in this world if we all had the understanding of what it means to love others.

  3. You are right that he wanted to bear witness, and keep those to whom he told the story on the right path. An excellent summary of a life that we know through letters.

  7. Beautifully done! I love Paul's letters. I did a Beth Moore Bible study on Paul and I cried when it was over.
