Six Sentence Stories - Scale

Lisa of The Prolific Pulse has written some acrostic style stories written in only six sentences. Denise of Girlie on the Edge's Blog is the host for the blog hop Six Sentence Stories - Scale. I decided to use the acrostic style for my post this week. Click the link to peruse other bloggers' writing styles. (Since the word scale only has five letters, I took the liberty of making it plural in order to make this a six sentence story.)

She wished that she had prepared her body better for the weekend trek that would take her to the highest peak she had  tackled to date.

Climbing brought her a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment that she hadn’t felt in any of her other pursuits.

Acclimating herself to the higher elevation was more difficult than she had anticipated.

Leading the party was an experienced climber who took care of those in his charge, making sure they took time to rest and refuel their bodies.

Enduring the aching in her muscles was part of the price she was willing to pay.

Surveying the scenic grandeur from the summit was more exhilarating than she could have ever imagined.

  1. Scaling a peak is exciting. Bear Gryll has an interesting story to tell - when he shared his pictures on the peak of Mount Everest - his mother asked "Were you not carrying a comb to put your hair in place?" :)

    1. Although I personally have never scaled a peak, I know some who have. Bear Gryll's mother's comment made me laugh.

  2. and... is that an acrostic (pome, story, tale... whatever the correct term)? Very cool structure and quite engaging a Six.
And, very clever incorporation of the week's prompt word!

  3. I wish I had prepared mine for anything. Old is not working well for me. Good six. Good uses of the prompt. Scaling a mounting is about the only think I didn't think of. Glad you did.

    1. LOL. Old isn't working well for me either quite a bit of the time. Actually scaling a mountain is just a dream. . .a far away dream.

  5. Great Six, Pat. I imagine you have to be in tremendous shape for mountain climbing. No doubt the view from that summit was well worth the effort!
The only time I ever experienced being at a higher elevation was when I visited Lake Tahoe. It was my first time breathing "thinner air" :D

    1. I haven't been to Lake Tahoe yet. Walking or climbing to higher elevations has mostly been aided by driving to a look out. LOL
