Zaccheus Z Zany liked to chew on zwieback, but he liked znilla ice cream better, even if he couldn't say it.
When his sister, Zoey, tried to give him a little mashed zucchini squash he spit it out, scrunched up his nose and shook his head side to side.
Ziggy sometimes dropped his doggie toys in his lap in hopes he would play with him.
Zaccheus laughed when Zoey said funny words, like “zigzag zigzag zigzag” really fast.
He stopped crying when Mommy sang “zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay.”
Best of all was when Daddy said, “Zaccheus Z, we are going to the zoo today, and maybe, just maybe, we will see a zebra too.”
Well done! Reminds me of Dr. Seuss. Written with a sense of fun abandon to the joy of playing with words. Guaranteed smiles :)
ReplyDeleteZwieback. Talk about a blast from the past!
Thanks, Denise.
DeleteAwesome zzzzzzzs!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun considering what zzzzs to use.
DeleteNice! I keep singing in my head, "Zaccheus was a wee little man, and a wee little man was he; he climbed up in a hickory tree for the Lord he wanted to see..."
ReplyDeleteI had to look that one up. I attending a few different Sunday Schools when I was young, but that isn't a song I remember hearing or singing. Glad it brought back memories for you. Cute song. I imagine the kids like singing that one.
DeleteFun story to bring smiles :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Reena.
Deletewait... gimme a minute.... ("did anyone use zucchini? damn! Zorro!! I know there is no Zorro up there... what do you mean, 'For good reason'")
ReplyDeletefun Six, Pat
Thanks, Clark. I for one, really loved eating zucchini when I was a kid. It was boiled in a little water and served with a healthy slab of butter. I tried it that way as an adult, and didn't find it nearly as tasty. I still like zucchini but prepare it other ways. Ziggy could have been Zorro!
DeleteIndeed reminds me of Dr. Seuss 😸
ReplyDeleteThanks. I take that as a complement!
